Warranty Policy
Warranty Policy
Effective Date: 14 September 2026
Last Updated: 14 September 2026
This Warranty Policy (“Warranty Policy”) describes the warranty coverage, eligibility, exclusions, claim procedure, and remedies applicable to products sold by VOLTion through https://www.voltion.in (“Website”) and through authorized VOLTion sales channels.
This Warranty Policy should be read together with the applicable product documentation, invoice, warranty card, Terms of Service, Shipping Policy, and Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Where a product-specific warranty expressly provides different terms, the product-specific warranty terms shall prevail for that product.
1. VOLTion Limited Product Warranty
VOLTion warrants that eligible battery products supplied by VOLTion will be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship during the applicable warranty period, subject to the terms and conditions of this Warranty Policy.
The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and to the product identified by its original serial number, unless otherwise expressly agreed by VOLTion in writing.
The warranty does not guarantee that a battery will maintain its original capacity, range, runtime, or performance throughout the warranty period. Lithium batteries naturally experience gradual capacity degradation through normal use and ageing.
2. Warranty Period
The warranty period depends on the product category and the specific product purchased.
Unless a different period is expressly stated on the product page, invoice, warranty card, quotation, or product documentation, the following general warranty periods may apply:
Product Category | Standard Warranty |
|---|---|
E-Scooter Lithium Battery | 2 Years |
E-Rickshaw Lithium Battery | 3 Years |
Inverter Lithium Battery | 5 Years |
Solar Lithium Battery / Energy Storage Battery | 5 Years |
Agriculture Spray Pump Lithium Battery | 1 Year |
Custom/OEM Battery Pack | As specified in quotation/invoice/warranty document |
*The exact warranty period for an E-Rickshaw or other commercial-use battery may vary by model and application. The warranty period printed on the applicable invoice or warranty document will prevail.
The warranty commencement date shall generally be the date of purchase/invoice, unless otherwise specified in writing.
For dealer, distributor, OEM, institutional, or bulk purchases, separate commercial warranty terms may apply.
3. What the Warranty Covers
Subject to this Warranty Policy, VOLTion may cover defects arising from:
Manufacturing defects
Defective workmanship
Defective internal components
Manufacturing-related electrical failures
Certain BMS-related defects attributable to manufacturing
Other defects determined by VOLTion to have originated during manufacturing
VOLTion may, at its discretion and subject to applicable law:
Repair the product;
Repair or replace the defective component;
Replace the complete battery;
Provide an equivalent or technically suitable replacement product; or
Provide another remedy required or permitted under applicable law.
The specific remedy will depend on the nature of the defect, product availability, technical evaluation, and applicable law.
4. Battery Capacity and Normal Degradation
Lithium-ion battery capacity naturally decreases over time and usage.
The following may affect battery capacity and performance:
Number of charge/discharge cycles
Charging conditions
Discharge current
Operating temperature
Storage conditions
Depth of discharge
Vehicle or inverter load
Charging frequency
Age of the battery
Installation and operating conditions
Normal capacity degradation is not automatically considered a manufacturing defect.
Any capacity-related warranty threshold, where applicable to a particular product, shall be governed by the product-specific warranty terms or warranty certificate.
5. Warranty Eligibility Requirements
To make a warranty claim, the customer may be required to provide:
Original invoice or proof of purchase

VOLTion may request inspection, testing, diagnostic information, or physical return of the product before approving a warranty claim.
6. Warranty Registration
Where VOLTion provides a warranty-registration facility, customers are encouraged to register their product using the applicable VOLTion warranty-registration process.
Warranty registration may help VOLTion maintain accurate product and customer records and facilitate future warranty support.
Failure to register a product does not by itself invalidate a statutory or expressly provided warranty where proof of purchase and product identity can otherwise be established, subject to applicable warranty terms.
7. Installation and Compatibility
Warranty coverage may depend on proper installation and compatibility.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the battery is compatible with the intended:
Vehicle

10. Commercial and Heavy-Duty Applications
Products used for commercial, fleet, rental, high-utilization, or heavy-duty applications may experience substantially higher cycle counts and operating loads than private consumer applications.
Such applications may be subject to product-specific warranty conditions, cycle limits, operating-hour limits, or other restrictions stated on the quotation, invoice, warranty certificate, or product documentation.
Where special commercial terms have been agreed, those terms shall prevail.
11. Custom and OEM Battery Packs
Custom, OEM, and application-specific battery packs are manufactured according to specifications supplied or approved by the customer.
Warranty for custom/OEM batteries covers manufacturing defects in the supplied battery system, subject to the agreed specifications and warranty terms.
Warranty may not cover performance problems arising from:
Incorrect application specifications supplied by the customer
Incompatible external equipment
Customer-designed electrical systems
Incorrect charger/controller/inverter configuration
Unauthorized modifications
Changes made to the application after delivery
The warranty period and conditions for custom/OEM products may be separately specified in the quotation, purchase order, invoice, or warranty document.

Replacement does not necessarily restart the original warranty period unless expressly stated by VOLTion or required by applicable law.
18. Warranty Shipping and Transportation
Where a warranty claim is approved as a manufacturing defect, VOLTion may arrange or bear reasonable transportation costs according to the applicable warranty process.
Where a warranty claim is rejected because the issue is caused by misuse, accidental damage, unauthorized modification, incompatibility, or another excluded cause, the customer may be responsible for applicable inspection, transportation, repair, or return charges.
The handling of shipping costs may vary for dealer, distributor, OEM, and commercial accounts.
19. No Cash or Performance Guarantee in Every Case
A warranty claim does not automatically entitle the customer to a cash refund.
Depending on the circumstances, VOLTion may provide repair, replacement, or another remedy instead of a refund.
Refunds, where applicable, will be governed by the Cancellation & Refund Policy and applicable law.
20. Transfer of Warranty
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, the warranty is provided to the original purchaser and is not automatically transferable to another owner.
Any transfer of ownership or warranty entitlement must comply with applicable product-specific warranty conditions.
21. Warranty Void Conditions
Warranty may be considered void or unavailable to the extent permitted by applicable law where:
Serial number is removed, altered, or unreadable due to tampering;

25. Warranty and Statutory Consumer Rights
This Warranty Policy provides VOLTion's contractual warranty terms and does not limit any mandatory rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable Indian law.
Where an applicable law provides a right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded, that right or remedy will continue to apply.
26. Limitation of Warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the remedies expressly provided under this Warranty Policy constitute VOLTion's warranty remedies for covered defects.
Nothing in this Policy excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
27. Changes to This Warranty Policy
VOLTion may update this Warranty Policy from time to time to reflect changes in products, technology, warranty procedures, service arrangements, or applicable law.
The latest version will be published on this page with the updated “Last Updated” date.
Warranty claims will generally be evaluated according to the warranty terms applicable to the product at the time of purchase, subject to applicable law and any expressly agreed product-specific warranty.
